Suitable for use by commercial customers and private individuals for spreading on local roads & pavements.
Brown rock salt contains large granules and is the most commonly used in the UK. Brown rock salt is usually drier than white so it flows and spreads more easily. It is also cheaper than white rock salt. The product's natural brown colour is useful when spreading because it is visible on snow.   It is a British mined product and so has a lower carbon footprint than white rock salt.Â
Brown salt can be spread manually or by using a mechanical spreader on paths, roads, car parks and playgrounds etc. Â
Brown rock salt does however leave a muddy residue that can be transferred onto carpets.  In some situations the cleaner white rock salt may be the preferred option. ()Â
