The manufacturer conducts extensive testing on the Sealtex range to ensure it meets and exceeds EN343 waterproof standards. SATRA test house is used to perform hydrolysis and hydrostatic tests on Sealtex fabric. The material is hydrolysed at a temperature of 120 degrees for 7.5 hours. It is then flexed 100,000 times according to SATRA TM25:1992 and reviewed for cracking in fabric. No cracking indicates a high performing fabric. Sealtex fabric consistently achieves top results in this test.
Hydrostatic testing indicates resistance to water penetration. SATRA`s recommendations are waterproof garments should exceed a level of 300cm. Sealtex achieves 500+. The hydrostatic test is conducted with a rate of increase of water pressure equal to 60cm/minute at room temperature.
